The Tama Imperialstar Drum Set comes ready to rock" with drums, cymbals, and hardware. Toms and bass drum are constructed of 100% poplar with a tough and attractive covered finish. The snare drum is composed of solid steel. The drums are outfitted with Imperialstar lugs, bass drum spurs, tom holder, snare strainer, and thicker drum heads on batter side. The kit also includes improved German-made cymbals, the Stagemaster hardware series, and an HT25 drum throne.

It was time for something new in drums. We found that something in African Bubinga wood, which is approximately 53% harder than Maple and Birch. Acoustically speaking, this provides an interesting anomaly….. Very sharp and aggressive attack combined with unbelievably rich, fat lows. Unexplainable, you would think the sound would be leaning one way or the other. But Bubinga delivers both! Our Bubinga shells are slightly thicker than our maple drums, we determined that this allows the drums to speak their fullest. The outer Maple ply allows us to offer a much wider selection of colors.
