Brian Chabza

(Not Currently Taking Students)

Violinist Brian Chabza’s enthusiastic teaching style has fostered a love of music for both children and adults. He is known for the highly customized nature of his lessons, providing quality instruction based on the student’s goals and interests. A native of Miller Place, Brian has studied with a diverse range of violin/fiddle instructors including Mark O’Connor (Fiddler, Composer), Matt Glaser and Darol Anger (Berklee College of Music), Catherine Cho (The Julliard School), and John Blake Jr. (jazz violinist).

Brian has established an active career as a performing/studio musician on Long Island. Starting in 1997 he was one of the founding members of ‘Ants Marching’ a popular Dave Matthews tribute band who performed extensively throughout the Northeast. He was also the violinist, guitarist, and mandolinist for the Theatre Three pit orchestra from 2006 to 2011. He is currently a member of the bluegrass band “Buddy Merriam and Back Roads.”  He has recorded on dozens of albums as a session musician for local bands and songwriters.

In January of 2014 Brian purchased Sound Beach Music. In doing so he has further dedicated himself to serving musicians in our community with exceptional quality musical lessons, products and services. As running the store has occupied more of his time, he is currently not taking more students.
