Shot Not...
With a pop-punk vibe reminiscent of
The Lawrence Arms and 90's era emo,
Shot Not has been steadily gigging
their way around Brooklyn and Long
Island garnering attention from the
likes of
"Brooklyn Underground" and "Long
Island Music Scene Radio." The
Nassau County based trio has just
released their first EP entitled
"There's Still Time!" under Friendly
Neighborhood Records.
Shot Not is the quintessential
summertime band for those who
wouldn't be caught dead listening to
a Green Day album post "Warning."
They're the definition of DIY punk.
Brooklyn Underground
enthusiastically posted their first
recorded endeavor stating that "If
you are into Latterman, Hot Water
Music, The Larry Arms, and the like
you will LOVE these guys."
Shot Not made all the right
decisions and hit the ground running
by recording their first album with
Tom Malinowski of Bomb The Music
Industry and Barnaby Jones, two
staples of the LI Punk/Hardcore
scene who have gained national
attention.
When Shot Not
isn't rocking the stage for
themselves, they back up BOTM Alum
John Warren in "John Warren and the
Tin Can Collective." No energy is
lost in adding anywhere from 3 to 5
more people to the stage, though, as
Shot Not remains confident in their
ability to rock.
The band
describes themselves as "2 dudes and
a friendly giant who hate going to
school and like making music."
Their love for what they do is
evident when you hear their tunes.
All their songs appear well thought
out, with honest lyrics about what
everyone in their early twenties
goes through at one time or another.
Shot Not is not a band to miss.
Their album is available as a free
download from both Brooklyn
Underground and Friendly
Neighborhood Records.
