After
each use:
Remove reed.
Swab mouthpiece, neck and
body.
Polish exterior with cloth.
Do not use any metal polish
or cleaning solution.
Keep cap on mouthpiece when
not in use.
Put neck plug on instrument
before putting in case, to protect
octave mechanism.
Occasionally:
Clean the mouthpiece with warm (not
hot) soapy water and mouthpiece
brush, dry with swab. To clean and
dry pads, insert tissue between pad
and hole and press pad.
Be sure neck strap holds instrument
properly.
Use cork grease on the neck
cork.
Keep instrument in case when not in
use. Do not store other items in
case that may press on instrument.
If you have a problem with
the instrument or case, bring it in
right away-don’t try to fix it
yourself. Keep your instrument
clean, and be careful with it.
